More than 3 years ago, Trinh Thu Vinh entered the Southeast Asian Games for the first time when competing in the 31st SEA Games held in 2022 in Vietnam. She recalled: That was my first SEA Games. I was young at that time and not experienced much but completed the events to win the individual Bronze Medal and the Silver Medal for the 10m air pistol team.
After 3 years, after more than 1,000 days of waiting, Trinh Thu Vinh was able to participate in the SEA Games for the second time and she competed in the 33rd SEA Games. The players have spread their hearts and practiced very carefully before participating in the official competition in Thailand this year. However, Thu Vinh reserved that she only thought that the chance of success when entering the individual 10m air gun final at the 33rd SEA Games was 50-50.
"Everyone knows that those who have reached the finals have good expertise. I think the chance of winning is 50-50 for everyone. But the victory I have achieved this time is my focus on the shots very carefully. The SEA Games record came to me as a blessing because I didn't think I would break the record," Trinh Thu Vinh added.
A year ago, Trinh Thu Vinh was an excellent representative of Vietnamese shooting, ranked 4th in the women's 10m air pistol event at the 2024 Paris Olympics (France). Last year can be considered a successful year for individual shooters. However, she affirmed that she had to show her achievements with medals.
Therefore, Thu Vinh clearly determined the goal of winning the SEA Games 33 Gold Medal. That aspiration and goal were successful. All the spectators present in the women's 10m air gun final of the 33rd SEA Games stood up to offer their hand-to-hand fireworks with the greatest cheers towards Trinh Thu Vinh when she finished competing and won the Gold Medal.
1 year ago, Thu Vinh led the list of voting books for Outstanding National Athletes 2024 of Vietnam Sports. At this time, she had made that list correctly. That means the best person must achieve successful results at the 33rd SEA Games with 2 Gold Medals (including individuals and teammates, both breaking the SEA Games record).
