Director Ryoo Seung Wan's action spy movie - "Humint" - is having a strong comeback on Netflix after a box office failure in Korea.
According to FlixPatrol, as of April 5, "Humint" has been at number 1 on Netflix's global box office chart for 3 consecutive days after its release on the platform.
The film also entered the Top 10 Netflix in 82 countries, including South Korea, Singapore and many regions in the Middle East and Europe.
Humint" stars Jo In Sung, Park Jung Min, Park Hae Joon, Shin Se Kyung, telling the story of intelligence agents from South Korea and North Korea clashing in the Russian city of Vladivostok.
The story revolves around a Korean agent (played by Jo In Sung), a North Korean officer (played by Park Jung Min) and an informant (played by Shin Se Kyung), when their fates intertwine, creating a tense story revolving around belief and betrayal.

With a production budget of 23.5 billion won, excluding promotional costs, the film is among the most anticipated Korean films in the first half of 2026.
Not to mention, Ryoo Seung Wan is a famous action director of Korean screens, with the works "The Berlin file" (2013), "Veteran" (2015), "Escape from Mogadishu" (2021), "Smugglers" (2023)...
Besides, "Humint" also received many compliments from international audiences and critics thanks to its dramatic action scenes and solid deployment.
The media also compares the film to a combination of the "007", "Tinker tailor soldier spy" and "John Wick" series, which are both sensational and action-rich.
However, when it premiered in theaters in Korea in February (Lunar New Year 2026), "Humint" only recorded about 1.98 million tickets and did not achieve a break-even score.
After that, the producer decided to release the work on Netflix from April 2. It is known that the film has signed a high-value copyright contract with Netflix, helping to compensate for most of the box office losses.
With an impressive comeback, "Humint" is currently considered a notable "rebirth" on the global streaming platform.
