In the preview of "Going Against the Road Against the Sun" episode 1, Mr. Phuc (Meritorious Artist Thanh Binh) is busy preparing to welcome Mai (Ngoc Huyen) back to her hometown after studying at university in the city.
Mai's older sister is Van (Thu Mit) - a calm, thoughtful girl. Because of this, Mr. Phuc is always more secure about his eldest daughter than his youngest daughter because Mai has a completely opposite personality to her older sister.
After returning from the city, Mai took her group of friends to visit her hometown and introduced the traditional incense workshop. As soon as she returned, Mai met Thang (Truong Hoang) and was invited by Thang to go to karaoke. This made Mai annoyed and irritable. "I told my friends to come along for fun, no matter how crowded they are, I can take care of everything. Come and pick them up and call them to go," Thang boasted.
Mr. Truc's (Anh Tuan) and Mrs. Dien's (Nguyet Hang) families are rivals to Mr. Phuc's family. When she saw Mai bringing her friend to film the incense factory, Mrs. Dien went home to tell her husband and claimed that Mai brought the journalist to scrutinize her factory.
