According to Korean media reports, the 2025 Music Awards Japan will be organized by 5 major music organizations in Japan.
The program determined the winners in 62 music categories through the votes of more than 5,000 experts in the Japanese music industry.
Some of these awards were announced early. First, Blackpink's Rose was announced as the winner of the "Best International Pop Song in Japan" category for the 2024 hit "APT." featuring Bruno Mars.
On the other hand, NewJeans won the "Best K-Pop Song in Japan" award with "Ditto".
The main awards ceremony will announce the winners in 6 main categories including: "Song of the Year", "Artist of the Year", "New Artist of the Year", "Album of the Year", " top global hit song from Japan" and "Best Song of Asia", held live on May 22 at 7:30 p.m. Japanese time.
Along with her victory in the category of "Best International Pop Song in Japan", Rose was also nominated in the category of "Song of the Year" for "APT". Two other K-Pop artists, including aespa with "Supernova" and PLAVE with "Way 4 Luv," are competing for the "Best Song in Asia" category.
