People's Artist Tan Minh, born in 1972, is one of the typical lyrical voices of modern Vietnamese music. His artistic path was built from formal training, persistent performance process and long-term attachment to the professional stage environment.
At the age of 16, after winning a high prize at the Student Singing Contest, Tan Minh left his hometown to Hanoi to pursue a music career. He passed the entrance exam to the Hanoi Conservatory of Music (now the Vietnam National Academy of Music), majoring in Vocal Music.
The formal training process helped Tan Minh soon define a technical, restrained and in-depth singing style. When he graduated, he achieved a perfect score and was accepted to work at Thang Long Music and Dance Theater as a singer.

The late 1990s was a period marking an important step forward in Tan Minh's performance career. In 1998, he won the Asian Golden Voice award. At the same time, the song "Phuong Hong" was broadcast on Vietnam Television, helping his name get closer to the public.
However, the milestone affirming Tan Minh's position came in the early 2000s, when he released his debut studio album "First Love Letter". This album contributed to shaping the image of a lyrical voice associated with narrative compositions.
In 2014, Tan Minh organized his first personal liveshow called "Tan Minh in the spotlight", celebrating 20 years of artistic activities. This is also the period when he gradually shifted his focus to management work in parallel with performance.
After Meritorious Artist Trong Dai transferred to Voice of Vietnam Radio, Tan Minh was assigned the task of Standing Deputy Director of Thang Long Song and Dance Theater. During his time in this position, he directly participated in managing professional activities and organizing performances of the unit.
On December 11, 2015, Tan Minh was appointed Director of Thang Long Song and Dance Theater. Since then, the Theater has achieved many results at National Professional Song and Dance Festivals, with many gold and silver medals for performances and plays.
Tan Minh personally has won emulation titles for many years and has been recognized in the cultural and artistic movements of the Capital.
In 2023, he was awarded the title of People's Artist, marking a long journey of continuous activities in both performing arts and art management.

In parallel with his singing career, NSND Tan Minh's personal life is also closely associated with the art environment. In 2004, he married Cheo artist Thu Huyen - who was then an actress of the Hanoi Cheo Theater.
People's Artist Thu Huyen was appointed Director of Hanoi Cheo Theater on September 11, 2025.
The couple has two sons, who are oriented to study on their own path.
