Recently, after "The Four Guardians" surpassed the 300 billion VND mark and entered the top 5 Vietnamese films with the highest revenue in history, director Tran Thanh posted a confidant about this project.
Tran Thanh believes that "people who are introverted, or afraid of noise, or work in offices in a quiet environment will think this film is noisy", "anyone who likes and is used to a film with a plot that must be thrilling, suspenseful, many things that happen continuously or not interested in the theme of love will find this film bland".
However, the audience thought that Tran Thanh's comments were somewhat hasty, even a bit too much for viewers. On the contrary, it does not mean "any audience who likes gentleness and romance, simply wanting to watch an entertainment film for the stars, then seeing it absorbed, it touched, it had".
"The Four Guardians" has high revenue but the quality is considered not commensurate, the advertisement is integrated with blatant advertisements, the acting of the main characters is not yet good. Some people say that even if they are extroverted, easy-going, they still do not feel "able" as Tran Thanh said.

In fact, Tran Thanh has caused controversy many times because of his concluding views and reckless reviews of the audience.
In early 2021, the film "Bo Gia" was released in theaters, earning hundreds of billions of VND, officially becoming the highest-grossing Vietnamese film of all time.
Explaining the success of "Bo Gia", Tran Thanh said: "The more people come to see Bo Gia, the more people have psychological problems in Vietnam. It must have been a problem with your parents, you just sympathized like that when watching the film. I realized that there are so many people suffering. I want to be an influential person, creating works that bring value to the community and society. I hope everyone changes the way they behave towards each other, loves more".
This sharing of Tran Thanh immediately caused a mixed reaction. Many audiences are upset because they are forced to "have psychological problems" even though they go to the cinema with the mentality of wanting to support the director and watch entertainment films.
According to Tran Thanh, his above statement was distorted and cut correctly, causing many people to misunderstand him. For that reason, after this line was posted, he could not sleep because of stress because friends and colleagues texted that he was crazy when he made a sensitive line at the time the film was being loved.
It can be said that right from "Bo Gia", Tran Thanh has faced a wave of fierce controversy from the audience.
Coming to "Nha Ba Nu", when the audience complained about the film's too many vulgar and English-language slander causing impatience, Tran Thanh said that "Nha Ba Nu" was not "slander", but only noisy to accurately reflect the lives of the characters in the film.
With the film "Mai", talking about the controversial scenes in the film, Tran Thanh also commented: "If someone says that the film is cursed a lot, sometimes that person really doesn't watch it comfortably. If we sit comfortably and enjoy a film, we won't feel like it's a curse."
However, it is undeniable that the controversies of the online community are a factor that helps Tran Thanh's films always heat up every Tet season, maintaining the level of discussion among the fluctuating Vietnamese film market.
