On February 12, Netflix's original drama "Melo Movie" held a press conference to launch its production in Korea, with the participation of director Oh Choong Hwan and cast members Choi Woo Sik, Park Bo Young, Lee Jun Young, and Jeon So Nee.
“Melo Movie” delves into the lives of young people who are confused about falling in love and achieving their dreams. They discover each other, become inspirations for each other, and overcome their own traumas.
Director of “Melo Movie” Oh Choong Hwan is the one who directed many popular Korean TV series such as “Hotel Del Luna”, “Big Mouth”, “Start-Up”... The screenwriter of the film is Lee Na Eun - the writer of the film “Our Beloved Summer” starring Choi Woo Sik, released in 2021.
With a quality team of directors, screenwriters and actors, “Melo Movie” is highly anticipated when it is released on Valentine’s Day (February 14).
Sharing at the press conference, director Oh Choong Hwan said that psychological drama is a genre that he is quite afraid of when directing. However, screenwriter Lee Na Eun is someone he really likes, so the male director took on the work without hesitation.

In “Melo Movie,” Choi Woo Sik plays Ko Gyeom, a movie enthusiast who used to be an actor who took on many supporting roles, but eventually became a movie critic.
During that process, he gets involved in a relationship with Kim Moo Bi (Park Bo Young) - who used to hate movies but became a movie director.
Choi Woo Sik expressed his excitement about collaborating with screenwriter Lee Na Eun for the second time: "I like the way she writes scripts. Since we've worked together before, I know the appeal of the script she writes. The story this time also approached me very well.
In an interview not long ago, I said that I wanted to go to a film set where I could be happy and joyful, and “Melo Movie” fulfilled these things.”
The actor also praised director Oh Choong Hwan and co-star Park Bo Young. Choi Woo Sik said he had a very enjoyable filming process.

When asked about the difference between Choi Woong from “Our Beloved Summer” and Ko Gyeom from “Melo Movie,” Choi Woo Sik humorously explained in MBTI (personality test) terms: “It’s like the difference between a type I (introvert) person and a type E (extrovert) person.
Choi Woong is more reserved and introverted. While Ko Gyeom is extroverted, seeking help from those around him when facing difficulties and facing challenges head on.”
Choi Woo Sik was once very popular with "Our Beloved Summer", this time, "Melo Movie" released on Valentine's Day promises to be an expected comeback of the actor with the romance genre.
