In recent days, information about a person transferring 10,000 VND to support flood victims, with the content "support from the Central Circus brothers" has caused a stir on social networks.
Sharing with Lao Dong reporter, Mr. Tran Manh Cuong - Deputy Director of Vietnam Circus Federation - said that the Internal Political Security Department (PA03) of Hanoi City Police has drawn up a warning record for N.M.D (born in 2003).
At the police station, D. reported that since 2022, D. and some classmates created a chat group on Facebook Messenger called "Central Circus" for study purposes and this group had nothing to do with the Vietnam Circus Federation.
When there was an announcement to support compatriots affected by storm No. 3, D. personally transferred 10,000 VND in support under the name "Tap the ae rap xiec trung uong ung ho" but did not notify or discuss with group members.
When he learned of the negative public reaction, D. proactively called the Vietnam Circus Federation to explain and apologize.
According to Mr. Tran Manh Cuong, when working with the Vietnam Circus Federation, the male student's attitude was sincere, receptive, and clearly aware of his wrongdoings.
"You yourself are not aware that something you think is simple can cause serious consequences, affecting the reputation of an organization. If the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front does not publish the statement, perhaps this group of friends and many others are not aware that an unintentional action can affect the reputation and honor of an entire organization. This is also a warning lesson for everyone," Mr. Tran Manh Cuong assessed.
The Deputy Director of the Vietnam Circus Federation added that as soon as rumors appeared on social networks, early in the morning, the Vietnam Circus Federation called all contacts and staff to an urgent meeting, especially the staff of the Central Circus.
Through discussion, the Vietnam Circus Federation asked its staff to make a commitment, affirming that no staff had donated money through the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front with the above content.
Mr. Tran Manh Cuong said that the incident has damaged the reputation and honor of the Vietnam Circus as well as the Vietnam Circus Federation. "On the internet, many people have not researched and verified the information and have rushed to criticize and demand a boycott of the Central Circus and the Central Circus Federation.
We worked with the motto of finding the person who made the transaction and clarifying the transfer content as quickly as possible, then sending an explanatory letter to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The case was handled and clarified, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism also acknowledged the efforts of the Vietnam Circus Federation to resolve the case."
People's Artist Tong Toan Thang, Director of the Vietnam Circus Federation, said that the Vietnam Circus Federation has called on each person to donate 1 day's salary to people affected by storms and floods. This amount will be transferred to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trade Union, then sent to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
In addition, the Vietnam Circus Federation also plans to organize a performance calling on artists and audiences to join hands in support. All proceeds from this performance will be transferred to people in flood-affected areas.
