The charity event Love Your W organized by W Korea magazine is facing a wave of criticism in Korea, as the public believes that this event has many Saturday activities, far from the original humanitarian goal of raising awareness of breast cancer.
While a series of Korean stars are actors and Kpop idols who caused controversy for comfortably drinking alcohol and dancing happily at events, female idol Wonhee of ILLIT was noticed for her delicate move.
After ILLIT performed on stage, Wonhee is a rare artist to spread the message about breast cancer. She told the audience: "Don't ignore even the smallest signs, go for testing right away."
Wonhee's speech video quickly attracted nearly 10 million views on X. The female idol born in 2007 received many compliments, because she is young but is one of the few artists who are truly interested in the main purpose of the event.
Meanwhile, W Korea was heavily criticized for turning a charity event into a lavish, lavish party for artists.
Hundreds of stars present were also questioned for their cheerful attitude at this event.

This year, Love Your W still brings together famous faces. The cast includes Lee Min Ho, Lee Jun Ho, Lee Chae Min, Jung Hae In, Lim Ji Yeon...
The idol singers are equally large with RM, J-Hope and V (BTS), Taeyang (Big Bang)...
In particular, Jay Park caused controversy when performing an inappropriate song that mentioned a woman's body. Karina (aespa) was asked to film a dance video for the song "Sugar on my tongue" with sexy lyrics and choreography.
Dispatch news agency suspected that W Korea is not transparent in its charity donation activities for breast cancer patients.
This magazine received tens of millions of won from nearly 30 luxury brands such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Prada, Fendi... In addition to sponsoring outfits for stars invited to attend the evening gown, luxury brands have together donated nearly 1 billion won to this year's event to raise awareness about breast cancer.
However, over the past 20 years (since 2006), W Korea announced that the "Love Your W" campaign has only raised about 1.1 billion won, an average of less than 50 million won/year.
In addition, based on a report from the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the total amount of money that W Korea transferred to the Korean Breast Cancer Health Fund for the period 2007 - 2025 only reached 315.69 million won. This is a big difference from the 1.1 billion won that W Korea mentioned.
