At the final hearing on September 11 at the Seoul Central District Court, former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin directly appeared in the lawsuit related to the right to sell shares with HYBE. Before the trial panel chaired by Judge Nam In-soo, Min Hee Jin said that illIT sales have been boosted to surpass NewJeans record.
"Why I said that was because the albums were sent to distributors to ensure sales records in the first week," Min Hee Jin explained.
The former Ador CEO emphasized that the problem is not the number of 80,000 copies, but the "orthophic" of ILLIT's sales skyrocketing on the first weekend.
These allegations immediately caused a stir in Korean online forums. A series of comments questioned why Min Hee Jin kept mentioning ILLIT's name in her legal dispute with HYBE. Many people frankly called for not to bother ILLIT, saying that dragging a group of female rookies into the center of the storm only escalated the controversy. Some people are more harsh in considering this a " obsession", and suggesting "apologizing" for causing mental damage to ILLIT members.
According to Allkpop, most audiences feel tired because the name ILLIT is constantly dragged into record competition while this is normal in the music market.
