On July 26, YouTuber Khoa Pug (Nguyen Anh Khoa, born in 1992) - who owns a channel with more than 4.7 million subscribers - posted a vlog for more than 30 minutes revealing that he had just gone to Turkey for the second leg extension surgery.
In 2023, he underwent surgery in the US, raising his height from 1.67 m to 1.75 m.
This second time, Khoa Pug spent about 100,000 USD (2.5 billion VND) to extend his leg by 7 cm, helping to balance the previously pulled thigh by 8 cm, overcoming the situation of "long back, short legs".
"Many people ask me why I'm dragging my leg again. Because the last time I pulled my thigh up 8 cm, my lower leg became shorter and I couldn't sit on a squat. Therefore, I added the leg to balance," Khoa Pug explained.
The male YouTuber said the surgery was faster and less painful than the first time in the US.
Pug Department stayed at the hospital for 3-4 days, then returned to the hotel to rent 45 million VND/month for recovery, practice with PT (individual coach) and doctors to monitor. Along with the cost of surgery and diet, exercise, and post-operative check-ups, the total estimated cost is about 3 billion VND.
Every day, he uses a towing machine 3 times, his legs will be 1 mm/day long, expected to reach a height of 1.8 m after 70 days - raising the height by a total of 15 cm, a rare level in Vietnam.
Pug department is famous for its luxurious lifestyle, often spending a lot of money to experience luxurious services, traveling around the world. However, he has also been involved in controversy many times.
Regarding the issue of leg extension, Master, Doctor Le Khanh Trinh (from the Department of Orthopedic Trauma Surgery and Sports Medicine of E Hanoi Hospital) shared with Lao Dong reporter: Lengthening leg surgery is a relatively complex surgery. In addition to the cost, it will take a lot of time and effort to recover, so when it is really necessary and mentally prepared enough, take this surgery.
Dr. Trinh also added about the consequences of extending the leg for the second time: Extracting the leg for the second time (for example, pulling the leg when the previous time you had pull the thigh bone) in addition to increasing the height, also balancing the ratio of the thigh and leg, helping to achieve better aesthetics.
However, leg extension surgery is at risk of complications such as prolonged pain, damage to nerve blood vessels, muscle tendon contraction, and slow or absent bones. Especially when there is a second surgery, there will be a higher risk.
Therefore, to do a second leg extension, patients need to prepare and consider carefully, and need to consult an expert on orthopedic trauma for the most accurate advice".
