On April 18, according to information from the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province, by the end of March 2025, the whole province had 1,396 households registered to open extra teaching and learning services through the Finance - Planning Department of districts, towns and cities.
Vinh city alone has 838 licensed households, leading the whole province. Localities with a high number of registrations include Yen Thanh (150 households), Dien Chau (99 households), Quy Hop (47 households), Do Luong (25 households), while Quy Chau district has not recorded any cases.
Along with that, the whole province has 468 continuing education centers in operation, including foreign language centers, IT, life skills, cultural - artistic development and 98 other educational business organizations.
In schools, extra teaching activities are also widely deployed. Up to now, Nghe An has 397 secondary schools and 91 high schools organizing extra classes in schools, reaching a rate of 100%. In addition, a primary school in Quy Chau district has implemented a class to train life skills, arts and sports for students.
Currently, 2,302 free extra classes are being held in schools, attracting more than 137,000 students to participate. These classes mainly serve disadvantaged students, excellent students and final year students with a duration of 2 periods/week/subject, no fee is collected.
extracurricular teaching is mainly focused on grade 9 and grade 12. Establishments and individuals who earn money from tutoring activities are required to make it public according to the provisions of Circular 29. For teachers working in public schools, participation in extra teaching must be managed, reported and strictly followed by the school. current regulations.
However, the implementation of Circular 29 in Nghe An still has shortcomings. Some schools have been forced to adjust their teaching plans, affecting the review schedule of senior students. In particular, some places have to suddenly stop teaching extra classes in schools, causing concern for parents and students.
Nghe An Education Department is continuing to review and guide schools, teachers and related organizations and individuals to ensure strict implementation of regulations on extra teaching and learning, while creating conditions for review and student development to take place in the right direction, without causing pressure or negative consequences.
The Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province has consulted and the People's Committee of Nghe An province is soliciting comments on the draft regulations on extra classes in the province and will issue them in the coming time.
