Increase business linkages, expand job opportunities
Not only focusing on training, the University of Mining and Geology also promotes connections with businesses to improve job opportunities for students after graduation.
According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Truong, fields such as rare earths, strategic minerals, smart mining, and carbon conversion are in high recruitment demand in the context of many industries entering the technology transformation phase.
Currently, the school has signed cooperation agreements with many large enterprises and corporations to coordinate training, receive interns and recruit graduates.
In addition, the network of university alumni nationwide is also considered a bridge to support learners to access the labor market.
With the companionship of businesses, along with scholarship policies from the State and schools, students after graduation have many opportunities to work in the right major with good income" - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Truong assessed.
In 2026, the University of Mining and Geology will train 48 undergraduate majors in 11 fields, expanding to the fields of construction science, architecture, environment, information technology, management, language and tourism.
In addition to traditional strengths, the school is expanding training in a multidisciplinary direction.
Many people think that the University of Mining and Geology only trains majors related to Earth science, mining, oil and gas or geodesy. However, currently the school has developed in a multidisciplinary direction, expanding training in many necessary fields in the new context for students" - Mr. Truong said.
