Bac Ha lets more than 600 students stay home from school to avoid landslides

Lao Cai - More than 600 students at 7 schools in Bac Ha district have been given a day off to ensure safety against the risk of landslides.

According to information from the Department of Education and Training of Bac Ha district, on October 1, heavy rain occurred in the district, 7 schools were at high risk of landslides, so the unit decided to let students stay home from school to ensure safety.

Accordingly, as of 10:00 a.m. the same day, in the district, Ban Cai Primary and Secondary School and 6 kindergartens allowed students to stay home due to the risk of landslides and water flooding into classrooms, including the following schools: Quan Din Ngai (Ban Pho); Nam Tho (Thai Giang Pho); Ta Cu Ty main school (Ta Cu Ty); Ban Du, Nam Tri (Bao Nhai); Nam Cai (Nam Det).

Of which, Ban Cai Primary and Secondary School has 306 students, 6 kindergartens have 355 students.

According to the Department of Education and Training of Bac Ha district, for now, all students at the schools have been absent from school and have been picked up by their parents to go home and take shelter; the return to school will be calculated appropriately to ensure safety.
