The Ministry of Education and Training announced the list and codes of the Departments of Education and Training and the 2025 high school graduation exam councils nationwide. The codes of these units are used by candidates in recording registration forms.
Candidates need to pay attention to writing the correct exam code and exam council when registering for the high school graduation exam and being admitted to university and college.
The 2025 high school graduation exam is the first exam organized according to the 2018 General Education Program.
This year's exam is organized in the context of the whole country to arrange and organizational structure of the political system, arrange administrative units and organization of local government 2 levels according to the policy of the Party and the State.
However, to stabilize candidates, the Ministry of Education and Training still maintains 65 exam councils as every year.
The Ministry of Education and Training has organized a training conference on the 2025 high school graduation exam for the Departments of Education and Training and the Police of 63 provinces and cities to thoroughly grasp the exam regulations, professional training for exam organization; training on the use of software systems to serve exam organization. At the same time, provide instructions on how to handle situations and problems that arise.
In addition, the Ministry also cares about and provides thorough training for those participating in organizing the competition, including reserve personnel; promptly changes personnel work when there is mobilization and rotation due to the merger.
Regarding the exam schedule, exam organization, the exam supervision work will take place on June 25, 26, and 27, 2025; in which June 25 is the exam registration date, June 26 and 27 are the official exam days, and June 28 is the reserve day.
The judging work will be carried out according to the general plan from June 29 to July 14, 2025; the exam results will be announced at 8:00 a.m. on July 16, 2025 at the Ministry of Education and Training and in provinces and cities (Department of Education and Training). The work of university, college and vocational education admissions will be carried out immediately after the announcement of high school graduation exam results.
Regarding the exam subjects, for candidates taking the exam under the 2018 General Education Program (expected to have over 1.1 million candidates), the exam will include 3 exams, including 1 Literature exam, 1 Math exam and 1 optional exam including 2 subjects from the subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology (Industrial, Agriculture), Foreign Language (English, Russian, French, Chinese, German, Japanese and Korean).
For candidates studying under the 2006 General Education Program (expected to have nearly 25 thousand candidates), organize 5 exams according to the 2006 General Education Program including: Literature; Math; Natural Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), Social Sciences (History, Geography, Civic Education) and Foreign Language. To be considered for recognition of high school graduation, each candidate must take 4 exams including Literature, Math, Foreign Language and 1 Natural Science or Social Science exam; organize 4 exams like previous years.
