Ministry of Education and Training answers questions about teaching allowances for trainee teachers

    Whether trainee teachers receive classroom allowance is a question many teachers are concerned about.

    Ms. Dang Thi Thanh Ngan is a grade III primary school teacher, passed the civil service exam in 2023 and is doing a 1-year internship.

    Ms. Ngan asked: "During my internship, I received 85% of my salary and no teaching allowance. Is that correct?"

    Regarding Ms. Ngan's question, the Ministry of Education and Training responded on the Government Electronic Information Portal as follows:

    The preferential allowance regime for teachers is implemented according to the provisions of Decision No. 244/2005/QD-TTg dated October 6, 2005 of the Prime Minister, and instructions in Joint Circular No. 01/2006/TTLT-BGD&DT-BNV-BTC dated January 23, 2006.

    Accordingly, teachers (including those on probation or contract) on the payroll, who are directly teaching in public educational institutions in the national education system, are eligible for preferential teacher allowances.
