At the question-and-answer session with the Minister of Education and Training on hot issues in the field of education, National Assembly delegate Nguyen Minh Tam (Quang Binh delegation) expressed concern about the current situation of school violence, especially cyber bullying, with alarming developments and long-term sequelae.
Considering this a worrying challenge for the educational environment, affecting the younger generation, the delegate asked the Minister "When will there be no more shadow of school violence? ".
The Minister commented that this is a very humane question and he also expressed that those working in education always have one thing in common, until there is no more school violence in schools.
However, according to the minister, in reality, schools are an inseparable part of society, the wall surrounding schools is becoming increasingly fragile, the gap between schools and outside schools is gradually being erased by the Internet, social networks and modern media.
"I can say that there will be a day when there is no more violence in school. That is the day when adults no longer fight, then children will only look at each other with pure loving eyes" - the minister shared.
The Minister pledged that by all means, all measures will be taken to minimize, support, and control this alarming situation.
Citing statistics that more than 70% of students who commit violence against others have special family circumstances such as divorce parents, witnessing domestic violence or being victims of domestic violence, the minister said that these things affect the psychology, attitude, and behavior of students' perception of the whole person.
From there, he emphasized that the formation of ethics, personality, and behavior of students, the important part comes from family, the exemplary behavior of adults.
Schools play a role in controlling, supporting psychology, strengthening moral teaching, teaching people and active educational activities, limiting students from participating in violent behavior.
We will do this to the best of our ability - Minister Nguyen Kim Son pledged.
Also concerned about the issue of school violence, the National Assembly Delegate of the Soviet Village ( Kon Tum Delegation) pointed out that in reality, school violence is still a worrying challenge in the education sector.
"The form is gradually shifting from physical violence to mental violence, especially in cyberspace" - the delegate said and hoped that the minister would give a roadmap to build a healthy and humane school.

Regarding this issue, Minister Nguyen Kim Son said that to be fair, in schools in remote areas, the school problem is not as complicated as in schools in urban areas. However, he admitted that in reality, violence in cyberspace is increasingly complicated.
Among the current cases of school violence, 20 - 25% of forms of school violence occur on cyberspace. Online bullying is on the rise and becoming more sophisticated. In preventing school violence, it will be necessary to focus more on the issue of online violence and bullying in cyberspace" - the minister said.
