HCMC - The authorities have stepped in to handle the case of a female student being beaten by a group in the toilet of a vocational school.

On November 19, a representative of the People's Committee of Dong Hoa Ward (HCMC) said that immediately after receiving information about the incident, the ward's authorities took action to handle the case of female students fighting at Dong An High School for the Gifted.

The incident occurred in August 2025 in the school's toilet. The authorities determined that there were 5 people who participated in beating up other students.

The authorities have identified 4 female students as victims of school violence. After examination, the 4 female students who were beaten had 0% injuries. Therefore, there were not enough factors to constitute the crime of intentionally causing injury to 5 students who beat their friend.

Two students in a group of 5 friends who participated in the fight, T.P.A and D.T.N, were forced to drop out of school by the school. However, the behavior of the 5 students participating in the fight was not so serious as to disturb public order to negatively affect security, social order and safety. Therefore, the Investigation Police Agency of Ho Chi Minh City Police decided not to prosecute the criminal case.

Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that on November 18, a photo of a female student being beaten by a group in the restroom of Dong An High School for the Gifted appeared on social media. Ms. L.T.H (residing in Thuan Giao Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) said that the female student beaten in the online image was her daughter, named T.L.T.L (born in 2009 - studying 2nd year in food processing).

T.L.T.L was attacked by a group of 4 friends with his hands and feet on the head and body. After being beaten, this student had a hearing loss and could not hear, and was frightened and had to go to a medical facility for examination and treatment and stay out of school for 10 days. In addition, 3 of L's friends were also beaten by the opposing group.

According to Ms. L.T.H's family, the school and the authorities in Dong Hoa ward have stepped in to handle the incident. However, after watching the 2 videos, seeing L being beaten very badly, the family was very heartbroken. The family hopes that the school and the authorities will handle it strictly according to the provisions of the law to prevent school violence.

Talking to reporters, the leader of Dong Hoa Ward People's Committee said that the students involved have been handled. The Ward People's Committee has requested schools and other schools in the area to strengthen the education of students and take measures to prevent school violence.
