More than 20 high school administrators in Ca Mau applied for early retirement or voluntarily resigned from their positions, contributing to facilitating school arrangements.

On August 20, leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province said that the Department has completed the arrangement of affiliated units and schools according to the approved plan.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Nguyen - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province, the arrangement process took place smoothly, completing on schedule, partly thanks to the consensus and support of leaders of affiliated units and schools.

Notably, more than 20 management officials of high schools have applied for early retirement under Decree 154 or voluntarily changed their positions. Among them, many principals applied for early retirement; some principals voluntarily resigned as vice principals; many vice principals resigned from their positions and switched to teaching.

Mr. Du Quoc Kiet - former Principal of Bac Lieu Ethnic Minority Boarding School - said that there are still more than 2 years and 11 months before reaching retirement age. However, after exchanging with the leaders of the Department of Education and Training, he voluntarily applied for early retirement.

For me, voluntarily applying for early retirement is also a form of contribution to the development of the Education and Training sector, creating favorable conditions in arranging schools. When schools are streamlined, it will contribute to improving operational efficiency and quality of education. Retirement also creates conditions for young officials to follow in their footsteps and take higher positions," Mr. Kiet shared.

Similarly, Mr. Nguyen Cao Tho - former Vice Principal of Huynh Phi Hung High School - has applied to resign from his position and become a teacher after Huynh Phi Hung High School merged into Tran Van Thoi High School (Tran Van Thoi commune).

Mr. Tho said that he strongly supports the policy of merging schools and classes of the Central Government and Ca Mau province. According to him, he was born in 1989, and there is still much time to continue striving. Whether in the position of manager or teacher, the common goal is still to contribute to the cause of education.

According to the plan to arrange public preschool, general, continuing education, vocational education, and university education institutions in the area approved by the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, the entire Education sector reduced from 746 public education institutions to 359 institutions, a decrease of 387 focal points, equivalent to 51.88% compared to July 1, 2025.

Specifically, units directly under the Department of Education and Training decreased from 62 to 48 units, a decrease of 14 focal points, equivalent to 22.8%.

The Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province has mobilized and appointed 77 management officials. After arrangement, the number of management officials decreased by 35 people, including 18 Principals and 17 Vice Principals.
