Ca Mau restructures the college system after merger

Ca Mau merges 4 schools into Ca Mau College, merging Bac Lieu Medical College into Ca Mau Medical College.

On the afternoon of August 6, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province announced the decisions of the Ministry of Education and Training on arranging the system of colleges in the area, marking the completion of the organization of the vocational education network after the two provinces of Ca Mau and Bac Lieu merged.

According to the decision of the Ministry of Education and Training, Bac Lieu Vocational College, Bac Lieu College of Economics and Technology and Ca Mau Community College were merged in their entirety into Vietnam - Korea Ca Mau Vocational College. After the merger, the unit was named Ca Mau College.

The merger is carried out in the original state in terms of organization, personnel, finance, assets and learners. The Ministry of Education and Training requests the People's Committee of Ca Mau province to direct relevant units to complete the handover and reception, ensuring continuous teaching and learning activities, without affecting the legitimate rights and interests of students, lecturers and workers.

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Minh Luan - Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee - said that the merger is not only aimed at streamlining the apparatus but also creating a foundation to build a multi-disciplinary, multi-field vocational education institution, improving the quality of training and meeting the human resource needs to serve the socio-economic development of the province.

According to the orientation, Ca Mau College will train three levels including college, intermediate and elementary level; strengthen training according to business orders, expand international cooperation and link training with labor market needs. In the period 2026-2030, the school plans to enroll more than 21,000 students in all three training systems.

Taking on the task of Rector of Ca Mau College, Dr. Ngo Duc Luu said that the school collective will focus on improving the quality of training, strengthening links with businesses to supply human resources for the fields of marine economy, renewable energy, eco-tourism and logistics - industries that the province is prioritizing for development.

On the same day, Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee announced the decision to merge Bac Lieu Medical College in its original state into Ca Mau Medical College. The reorganization process must ensure normal training activities, maintain the legitimate rights and interests of learners, lecturers and related parties, and at the same time prevent loss and waste of assets.

The Provincial People's Committee also announced decisions to appoint leaders of Ca Mau Medical College after the merger. Accordingly, Mr. Huynh Quoc Su was appointed as Principal; Mr. Bao Thanh Hoang and Ms. Pham Thi Nha Truc were appointed as Vice Principals, both with a term of appointment of 5 years.
