Ca Mau is urgently completing facilities, arranging teachers, teaching equipment, ready to welcome students into the 2026-2027 school year.

Review each item, not to let teacher shortage occur

In mid-August, the preparation for the 2026-2027 school year in many localities in Ca Mau is being accelerated. From repairing classrooms, toilets, schoolyards to reviewing the teaching staff, schools are completing the final tasks to ensure teaching and learning conditions right from the beginning of the school year.

Through actual inspection at Tan Hung 2 Primary School, Loi An Secondary School, Phu Hung C Primary School and Luong The Tran Primary School, Standing Deputy Secretary of Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Huynh Quoc Viet requested schools to carefully review all conditions for the new school year.

In which, toilets must meet usage requirements; clean water and drinking water systems need to be regularly checked, ensuring quality and safety before being put into use. According to Mr. Huynh Quoc Viet, although they are auxiliary works, these are items of practical significance in ensuring the environment, safety, cleanliness, contributing to taking care of students' health.

Regarding classrooms and equipment, leaders of the Provincial Party Committee requested schools to inspect each room, each set of tables and chairs, promptly repair or replace degraded equipment and items that do not ensure safety. Equipment serving digital transformation is also required to be reviewed, especially computer systems, in order to create conditions for teachers and students to apply information technology in teaching and learning. Schoolyards must also be renovated, ensuring a safe, clean, and convenient ground for students to play, live, and organize educational activities.

In Ganh Hao commune, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ca Mau province Ho Thanh Thuy inspected the repair of classrooms at Tran Dai Nghia Primary School and Kim Son Primary School.

Provincial leaders requested localities and construction units to accelerate progress, ensure quality, and complete items before August 20 to be in time for the new school year opening ceremony.

According to reports, Ganh Hao commune has completed the arrangement of schools and classrooms, arranging staff, preparing facilities, teaching equipment, and cleaning schools and classrooms before the start of school. After arrangement, the number of schools decreased from 6 to 3, with 179 management staff and teachers.

Increase investment, improve school quality

In Vinh Phuoc commune, many schools are urgently repairing and upgrading classrooms, functional areas, canopies, and toilets, striving to complete them before August 19 to have time to clean and arrange classrooms to prepare for the opening ceremony.

Phuoc Long Secondary School in the 2026-2027 school year has 35 classes with more than 1,400 students. The school is invested in raising the foundation of 9 classrooms, installing roofs in the schoolyard area to add 100 new sets of tables and chairs. Principal Le Thi Kieu said that the investment and repair of facilities before the new school year creates favorable conditions for teachers and students to organize educational activities, innovate teaching methods and apply technology.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hoang, Chairman of Vinh Phuoc Commune People's Committee, the locality has comprehensively reviewed facilities, school scale, management staff, teachers, and staff at educational institutions.

At Tran Quoc Toan Elementary School, Hiep Thanh ward, in the new school year, there are more than 1,000 students with 23 classrooms, of which nearly 200 first-grade students are newly enrolled. The school checks tables, chairs, blackboards, electrical system, fans, lights and teaching equipment; and calculates the arrangement of classrooms suitable for the scale of students.

Sanitation work is deployed synchronously from the campus, schoolyard, corridors, classrooms to the toilet area, common living spaces. For 1st grade students, the school focuses on creating a friendly environment, helping them get acquainted with the school, class, teachers and friends.

Ca Mau is implementing a large investment project to improve facilities standards in 10 high schools this school year. The project with a total investment of 349.1 billion VND, implemented in the period 2025-2027.

The project focuses on Ngoc Hien, Vien An, Song Doc, Thoi Binh, Nguyen Van Nguyen, Dam Doi, Thai Thanh Hoa, Phu Hung, Phan Ngoc Hien high schools and Phan Ngoc Hien Specialized High School. The items include building new, renovating classrooms, subject rooms, administrative blocks, parking lots, playgrounds, technical infrastructure, fire prevention and fighting systems, and purchasing equipment.

After the arrangement, localities continue to review the scale of schools, facilities, and staff to promptly adjust and supplement the missing parts. Along with investment resources for high schools, completing schools before the school opening day is identified as an urgent task to ensure that students go to school safely, teachers are qualified to teach, and schools enter a stable new school year.
