Mr. Giang No Hanh (residing in Hong Lau village, Hong Ca commune) said that landslides have happened for many years.

Up to now, the entire large hill with hundreds of cubic meters of rock and soil has cracked, so the risk of falling on people's houses is extremely high. Talking to Lao Dong on August 23, Chairman of Hong Ca Commune People's Committee Ha Thanh Chuong said that in recent years, this school location has collapsed many times.
"In previous years, landslides and rocks buried much of the school's surface area. Even though critical points were reinforced and overcome, due to weak geology, many underground water sources were active, causing the situation to be constant. There is a risk of landslides," said Mr. Ha Thanh Chuong.
Also according to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hong Ca commune, the commune has proposed to the district leaders to temporarily let the children study at Hong Ca kindergarten, in Hong Lau village, about 2km from the landslide school to ensure safety for them. students are waiting for the construction of a new school.
Currently, the People's Committee of Yen Bai province has agreed with the plan to build Hong Ca 2 Primary and Secondary School at another location away from areas at risk of landslides.
"However, currently the project is implementing site clearance and construction procedures, expected to start this year and be put into use by 2025," Mr. Ha Thanh Chuong informed.
Hong Ca 2 Primary and Secondary School in Hong Lau village, Hong Ca commune, Tran Yen district, Yen Bai province was completed and put into use in 2009.
This school year 2024 - 2025, the whole school has 460 students, 100% are H'Mong ethnic people, including 170 middle school students and 290 elementary school students.
