Quang Binh - The new Tan My branch school will be built, the government is committed to completing it soon to ensure a safe learning space for students.

Increase compensation teaching time

Students at Tan My school (Quang Phuc Primary School No. 1, Ba Don town) have not been able to return to class after the Lunar New Year holiday, causing many people to worry about ensuring a learning program for them in the coming time.

Since Tet, students at Tan My school have not been able to go to class because parents are against moving to the main school. The prolonged interruption seriously affected the students' learning progress.

Mr. Phan Tien Lam - Principal of Quang Phuc Primary School No. 1 said that students who take too long a break from school will definitely affect the general program. When students return to class, the school will have a plan to make up for the time on Saturdays and Sundays or increase the study time after each class to ensure updated progress.

Ensuring a new place of study

After the dialogue on February 18, when still not reaching consensus with parents, Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Phuc Ward said that he would continue to report to the People's Committee of Ba Don Town about this situation. At the same time, the Ward People's Committee will organize an internal meeting to discuss solutions, including sending staff to each household to encourage parents to let their children return to school.

"The local government's viewpoint remains unchanged, not continuing to let students study at Tan My school for safety reasons. However, we will continue to persuade to find the most suitable solution," said Mr. Thanh.

Mr. Pham Duy Quang - Chairman of the People's Council of Ba Don town said that the locality will allocate resources to build a new Tan My branch school as soon as possible. At the same time, the government has committed to the construction progress to create peace of mind for parents when taking their children to school.

Currently, Tan My satellite school no longer ensures safety for teaching and learning. Therefore, the local government has agreed on a demolition plan to rebuild within a certain period of time. In the immediate future, the government hopes that parents will take students to the main school to continue studying, ensuring the program is not interrupted. After the new school is completed, students will be able to return to study at Tan My school with better conditions.

As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on February 6, after the Lunar New Year holiday, 154 students at Tan My school (Quang Phuc Primary School No. 1, Quang Phuc Ward) were still unable to return to class because parents opposed the decision to move from the branch school to study at the main school.

People said that the main school is nearly 2km from the branch school, making traveling difficult, so they want to continue studying at this school.

The People's Committee of Ba Don town said that at this school, there are 7 classrooms that are no longer safe.

Tan My branch school was built a long time ago and is easily affected by natural disasters. Therefore, the government has invited the Construction Quality Inspection Center (Quang Binh Department of Construction) for on-site inspection.

All 7 classrooms are seriously degraded. Many parts of the structure are no longer able to withstand the load, causing local danger and cannot continue to be used normally.

Therefore, the People's Committee of Ba Don town decided to temporarily close Tan My branch school and transfer all students to the main school - which has better facilities, spacious campus and full learning equipment.
