Regarding 154 students not going to school after Tet, on the afternoon of February 18, a dialogue took place at Quang Phuc Primary School No. 1 (Ba Don town) with the participation of representatives of the Department of Education of Ba Don town (Quang Binh province), the Quang Phuc ward government, the school's Board of Directors, teachers at Tan My branch school and more than 100 parents of Tan My block.
At the dialogue, many parents expressed their disagreement with transferring students to the main school and suggested that the government keep the Tan My satellite school so that their children could continue studying there.
After listening to the parents' opinions, Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Phuc Ward announced the assessment conclusion of the Department of Construction of Quang Binh on the serious deterioration of Tan My school.
Accordingly, continuing to teach here does not ensure the safety of students. Local authorities affirmed that relocating students is necessary to avoid unnecessary risks.

However, many parents did not agree with this announcement and all left, causing the dialogue to not reach an agreement.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on February 6, after the Lunar New Year holiday, 154 students at Tan My school (Quang Phuc Primary School No. 1, Quang Phuc Ward) were still unable to return to class because parents opposed the decision to move from the branch school to study at the main school.
People said that the main school is nearly 2km from the branch school, making traveling difficult, so they want to continue studying at this school.
The People's Committee of Ba Don town said that at this school, there are 7 classrooms that are no longer safe.
Tan My branch school was built a long time ago and is easily affected by natural disasters. Therefore, the government has invited the Construction Quality Inspection Center (Quang Binh Department of Construction) for on-site inspection.
All 7 classrooms are seriously degraded. Many parts of the structure are no longer able to withstand the load, causing local danger and cannot continue to be used normally.
Therefore, the People's Committee of Ba Don town decided to temporarily close Tan My branch school and transfer all students to the main school - which has better facilities, spacious campus and full learning equipment.
