On August 14, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Van Tinh, Principal of Vinh Loc High School (Vinh Loc Commune, Thanh Hoa Province) said that the provincial Department of Education and Training had closely directed and monitored the child's health after the incident of teacher V.X.T (a teacher of English at the school) beating a 7th grade student at Pham Van Hinh Secondary School (in Tay Do Commune, Thanh Hoa Province).
"Currently, we have given Mr. T a day off from professional work to spend time with his family taking care of the child's health. The school will also coordinate with the Tay Do Commune Police to clarify the incident" - Mr. Tinh said.
According to the Principal of Vinh Loc High School, the handling of Mr. T will be based on the investigation results of the police agency, the level of impact on students' health and family opinions. "The school's viewpoint is that if Mr. T is at fault, he will be disciplined accordingly, not covered up. However, the handling is still waiting for the verification results from the authorities" - Mr. Tinh said.
Previously, as Lao Dong Newspaper reported, a clip appeared on social media recording a scene of a man riding a motorbike to a resident's house and slapping a small child many times in the face. The clip shows the incident occurring at 9:33 a.m. on August 8, 2025.
The incident was later determined to have occurred in Vinh Long commune, the old Vinh Loc district (now Tay Do commune, Thanh Hoa province). The man in the clip is a teacher working at Vinh Loc High School.
The school representative said that after the incident, Mr. T wrote a report and a self-criticism report. The teacher and her family took the student to Hanoi for examination, then went to Thanh Hoa Children's Hospital for further treatment in a state of duodenal perforation.
According to the school, Mr. T is related to the child's family (called the student's parents "uncle and uncle). The family has been teaching Mr. T since grade 3. The reason for the incident was that during the summer, the student told her friend that Mr. T's teaching was confusing. Hearing this information, the teacher was upset so he went to the house, in front of the student's mother, slapping her 3 times in the face "to teach from the perspective of the family".
A representative of Thanh Hoa Children's Hospital said that the child was admitted to the hospital at noon on August 12. After examination, the doctor determined that the child's left ear had a punctured newspaper and bleeding. The child is being treated with antibiotics. After anti-inflammatory treatment, doctors will re-evaluate the size of the hole to see if it is self-healing. Many cases of duodenal injection can still be cured on their own" - the hospital representative informed.
