On August 13, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Van Tinh, Principal of Vinh Loc High School (Vinh Loc Commune, Thanh Hoa Province) said that he had initially verified the incident of teacher V.X.T (a teacher in the English department of the school) beating a 7th grade student at Pham Van Hinh Secondary School (in Tay Do Commune, Thanh Hoa Province).
"After the incident, the school asked Mr. T to report and report for review. Mr. T and his family also took the student to Hanoi for examination, then took him to Thanh Hoa Children's Hospital for further monitoring and treatment in the condition of duodenal perforation" - Mr. Tinh said.
According to the representative of Vinh Loc High School, Mr. T is related to the child's family (Mr. T calls the student's parents "uncle and uncle". The family of this student has been a teacher of Mr. T since grade 3.
The reason for the incident was that during the summer, the student told his friend that Mr. T's teaching was difficult to understand. Hearing this information, Mr. T was upset, so he went to the house, in front of the student's mother and slapped her in the face 3 times "to teach from a family perspective".
Discussing the health status of the male student, a representative of Thanh Hoa Children's Hospital said that the student was hospitalized at noon on August 12. After examination, the doctor determined that the child's left ear had a punctured newspaper and bleeding. Currently, the child is continuing to be treated with antibiotics.
After treating them with antibiotics to prevent inflammation, doctors will re-evaluate the size of the hole to see if it is self-healing. Because in many cases, the Eustachian tube is still self-healing" - a representative of Thanh Hoa Children's Hospital informed.
Previously, as Lao Dong Newspaper reported, a clip appeared on social media recording a scene of a man riding a motorbike to a resident's house and slapping a small child many times in the face. The clip shows the incident occurring at 9:33 a.m. on August 8, 2025.
The incident was later determined to have occurred in Vinh Long commune, the old Vinh Loc district (now Tay Do commune, Thanh Hoa province).
The incident is currently being investigated by the authorities.
