On June 11, Mr. Nguyen Bac Viet - Chairman of the People's Committee of Minh Hoa district (Quang Binh province) - said that he had agreed on a plan to pay subsidies to teachers working in disadvantaged areas, and at the same time requested schools to complete all related procedures to submit to competent authorities for consideration.
According to Lao Dong Newspaper, the People's Committee of Quang Binh province is preparing to issue a notice to provide solutions for teachers in Minh Hoa district.
Previously, departments and branches of Quang Binh province held a meeting to find solutions for teachers who do not receive allowances for disadvantaged areas in Minh Hoa district.
The meeting was attended by the People's Committee of Minh Hoa district, the Department of Home Affairs, the Department of Finance, the Department of Justice, the Provincial Inspectorate and the Office of the People's Committee of Quang Binh province.
After the meeting ended, the parties agreed to resolve the regime for the above teachers. The next step will review all teachers' records for support.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, many teachers in Minh Hoa district (Quang Binh) reported that they have not received a one-time subsidy under Decree 76/2019 of the Government despite teaching for more than 30 years in areas with special economic and social difficulties.
These teachers started working in 1991, were granted a decision by the People's Committee of Minh Hoa district to temporarily recruit contract staff and in 1994 were ranked as civil servants and public employees according to the decision of the People's Committee of Quang Binh province.
According to regulations, teachers working in disadvantaged areas for 10 years or more will receive a one-time allowance when transferring jobs or retiring. However, despite having submitted their applications since 2021, the teachers have not yet had their benefits resolved and have not received a clear explanation.
By 2023, they were refused subsidies on the grounds of not having a recruitment decision or a decision to recognize the recruitment results from the competent authority; not having a decision to receive subsidies approved by the principal.
