On the morning of June 12, at the 9th Session, the National Assembly voted to pass the Resolution on the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units in 2025. The country has 34 provincial-level administrative units, including 28 provinces and 6 cities.
Addressing the meeting, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh said that the delegates agreed that this was a very big policy, an important event of the Party and State, with very sacred historical and political significance. History has given the 15th National Assembly deputies the right to vote through the resolution.
According to the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, the National Assembly will pass a Resolution on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the 2013 Constitution and the Law on Organization of Local Government on the morning of June 16. Immediately after the vote, the resolution and the law will take effect immediately.
According to the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, also on June 16, the Chairman of the National Assembly will, on behalf of the National Assembly Standing Committee, sign 34 resolutions on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of 34 provinces and cities. The new commune-level government will operate synchronously nationwide from July 1.
Referring to the issue of transition and synchronization of documents for people and businesses, Resolution 76 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of provincial and commune-level administrative units in 2025 and Resolution 190 of the National Assembly issued at the 9th extraordinary session have very specific regulations.
"People and businesses can rest assured to use the issued documents until they expire. If there is a desire to reissue documents at the new address, State management agencies will support with simple administrative procedures and no fees, affirmed the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly.
Accepting the opinions of delegates on supervision issues, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly said that in the coming time, the National Assembly Standing Committee will assign members of the National Assembly Standing Committee to monitor, supervise, and guide support for localities to effectively implement the National Assembly's resolutions.
