Candidate Tran Phuong Thao (Hanoi) is preparing to take the 2026 high school graduation exam. However, the candidate lost her Citizen Identity Card and just completed the procedures for re-issuance.
Candidate Thao asked, in case you do not have a new ID card, can candidates use any other papers to register for the exam, is the appointment to return the ID card or other confirmation papers accepted? What additional procedures do candidates need to carry out to ensure they meet the conditions for registering for the exam?

Regarding this issue, the Ministry of Education and Training said that in case a hard citizen identification card has not been issued in time, candidates will still proceed with normal registration based on existing data on the system (or temporary identification code provided by the Support Point for synchronous support from the National Population Database).
The appointment to return the Citizen Identification Card is completely accepted as a supporting document for post-inspection. The adjustment and update of the correct Citizen Identification Number will be carried out after the candidate has been admitted and completed admission procedures at the university.
