Tet holiday is not over yet, final year students have returned to review early

Many senior students have proactively balanced their time to review, consolidate knowledge, and prepare for important exams even though Tet holiday has not ended.

Start early

After the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thao - a 12th grade student at Luong Dinh Cua High School (Can Tho City) - will take the mid-term exam 2 and then the high school graduation exam. Before the important exams, Ngoc Thao planned to self-study quite early and took advantage of the Tet holidays to sprint.

To study effectively while still maintaining the Tet spirit, Ngoc Thao has created a suitable personal schedule.

“Every day, I spend 2-3 hours reinforcing core knowledge, the rest of the time is spent resting and entertaining. Of these, I spend 4 days to fully enjoy Tet with my family. Although I don’t have much time to study by myself, it helps me feel more relaxed after Tet,” Ngoc Thao shared.

Although he had Tet holiday quite early from December 23, Nguyen Hoang Loi - a 12th grade student at Luong Dinh Cua High School (Can Tho City) - still maintained self-study to consolidate his knowledge every day, and only rested on the 28th of Tet. After the 3rd day of Tet, the male student quickly returned to studying even though the holiday had not ended yet.

“With a goal of entering the teaching profession with a fairly high standard score, and a new exam method being applied this year, I want to prepare as thoroughly as possible. Instead of using the entire Tet holiday to rest and relax, I decided to combine studying and playing,” the male student said.

Sharing the same thought, Truong Lam Anh Thu - a 12th grade student (Binh Tan district, Vinh Long province) - started studying quite early while the Tet holiday was still going on. The reason Anh Thu gave was because she did not want to be overloaded with knowledge when she returned to school.

“With the intention of taking the C block exam, I focused on equipping myself with knowledge of subjects in this block. I spent most of my time during the Tet holiday researching test-taking methods and reviewing more effectively. Preparing early helps me catch up faster when I return to school,” Anh Thu shared.

Don't put pressure on your child.

With her daughter about to take important exams, Ms. Vo Thi Muoi - parent of female student Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thao - believes that parental support is essential. Instead of creating pressure, Ms. Muoi chooses to guide, listen to and respect her daughter's opinions.

“I always encourage my daughter to freely choose subjects according to her passion and ability. At the same time, she should learn carefully about the subjects to make the most correct decision. Regarding taking advantage of the Tet holidays to review, I do not object, but I will give advice so that my daughter can balance her time, both studying and not missing out on beautiful memories with her family,” Ms. Muoi expressed.

Sharing the same view, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue Chi - parent of male student Nguyen Hoang Loi - shared that the pressure of exams is always not small, especially when this year her son is preparing for the high school graduation exam. Therefore, the family always tries to create a comfortable atmosphere and favorable conditions for him to study.

“At first, we were a bit hesitant, but when our son analyzed the benefits of early review as well as how to arrange time reasonably during the Tet holiday, we were very supportive. In addition to reminding him to take care of his health, my husband and I always let our son participate in the family's traditional Tet activities to help him reduce stress and have the most comfortable spirit,” Chi shared.
