According to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Ha - Deputy Director of the Department of Education Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training: The 2025 high school graduation exam will closely follow the content of the current general education program, ensuring the correct assessment of students' abilities and qualities. Candidates need to understand the knowledge and skills in the program with many textbooks, especially practical and applied issues.
According to Mr. Ha, this year's exam will have differentiated questions that require contact to solve practical problems. This is a key point to differentiate candidates.
At the same time, Mr. Ha also noted that the exam is mainly for grade 12 knowledge, but there are still grades 10 and 11. The questions can be implemented in two forms, either knowledge of grade 10 and 11, located independently; or knowledge of grade 12 and related grade 10, and 11 to promote the ability and differentiate candidates.

This year's exam is organized specifically, according to both the 2006 and 2018 general education programs. With the new program, the exam questions for subjects have changed in structure and content.
In Literature, candidates will take the exam for 120 minutes. The exam will include 2 parts: Reading and Writing, divided into scores of 4 points and 6 points respectively. Specifically, in the Writing section, the literary luan cau takes 2 points, while 4 points are for the literary luan cau. This is an important basis for candidates to allocate time and content for their work.
Meanwhile, in the previous literary exam, the score ratio was calculated at 3 points for reading comprehension and 7 points for criticism (including 2 points for social luan and 5 points for literary luan). Candidates taking the exam under the old program need to pay attention to this.
The remaining subjects are all taken in multiple-choice form, divided into 3 types of questions:
Part I includes 4-answer questions, requiring candidates to choose one correct answer. Candidates get 0.25 points if they do each question correctly.
Part II includes multiple-choice questions that choose correct/false answers. Choose accurately, candidates will get 0.1 point for a question, 0.25 points if two questions are correct, 0.5 and 1 point if 3 - 4 questions are correct.
Part III includes short multiple-choice questions, asking candidates to choose the answers. For Math, each correct question gives the candidate 0.5 points, for other subjects it is 0.25 points.
Candidates take a Math exam for 90 minutes with 22 questions, down from the previous 50 questions. Other subjects will study for 50 minutes, with the number of questions ranging from 28-40 questions, depending on the subject. IT and Technology are two new subjects. Economic and Legal Education was added to replace Civic Education under the 2018 general education program.
Details of the test time, number of questions and ratio of questions for each 2025 graduation exam subject are as follows:

In addition to the test structure, before the test date, candidates need to pay more attention to the types of computers brought into the exam room, the notes when taking multiple-choice tests and follow the test regulations that the Ministry of Education and Training has promulgated to avoid unfortunate cases.
In 2025, more than 1.16 million candidates nationwide will take the high school graduation exam, an increase of nearly 100,000 students compared to last year.
For students taking the exam under the new program, they will take 4 subjects in 3 sessions, shortening one session compared to before. Candidates take the Literature exam on the morning of June 26 and the Math exam in the afternoon of the same day. The next day (September 27), the students took the exam in 2 elective subjects. As for the old program, candidates will take an additional exam on the afternoon of June 27.
This year, the 2025 high school graduation exam will be printed on A3 instead of A4 as every year to facilitate star printing and reduce the risk of page Missing. The number of questions is printed according to the number of candidates in each exam room. For example, if a class has 10 candidates taking the Physics exam, it will only print from the subject code 01 to the subject code 10, which can be combined on a piece of A3 (in two sides).
