The 2025 high school graduation exam will take place on June 26-28. The exam will take place simultaneously with the 2018 and 2006 general education programs.
The group of candidates taking the first graduation exam under the new General Education Program must take four exams, including Math and Literature. In addition, candidates choose two subjects they have studied at school (Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, History, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology and Foreign Language).
Candidates taking the 2006 general education program must take 4 exams with 6 subjects including: Math, Literature, Foreign Language, natural science exam (physistry, chemistry, biology) or social science exam (History, Geography, Civic Education).
According to the exam regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, 3 cases are considered for graduation special status as follows:
Case 1: Candidates who have completed their study program but cannot take the exam due to an accident, illness or special emergency must not exceed 10 days before the exam date. The condition is that the students have good training and learning results for the whole year of grade 12 or higher.
Candidates need to submit an application for hospitalization, discharge or confirm that they are being treated by a hospital at the district level or higher if they have an accident or are sick; or confirmation from the People's Committee of the commune where they reside in case of special emergency.
In addition, candidates must have a record of the proposal to consider the high school graduation certificate of the high school where they registered and documents proving the results of grade 12.
Case 2: Candidates who have participated in at least one exam but then have an accident, are sick or have an emergency, candidates are also considered for special treatment. The condition is that the test score is 5 or higher, the 12th grade training results are good and the learning level is above.
The application for candidates in this group is similar to the above group, the only difference is that there is no need for a high school's application.
Case 3: Candidates are athletes with excellent results in national or international sports competitions, with training time abroad or international competition coinciding with the high school graduation exam time.
Regarding procedures, candidates must submit their application to the principal of the place of registration no later than a week after the final exam. Within 30 days from the end of the exam, the graduation recognition council will consider and decide on special treatment for candidates.
The 2025 high school graduation exam score was announced on July 16.
