Most universities training in the Northern health sector have announced the input quality assurance threshold (floor score) for 2026. In which, most schools apply the minimum score according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, especially Hanoi Medical University and Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy have set higher floor scores for some majors.
The Ministry of Education and Training stipulates a minimum admission score for healthcare majors with practicing licenses from 18-22 points, an increase compared to 2025. This is the minimum threshold for schools to consider admission, and each training institution is allowed to stipulate a higher score.
Among the announced schools, Hanoi Medical University has the highest benchmark score of 24 points, applied to Medicine, Dentistry - Maxillofacial and Medicine majors (Thanh Hoa Branch). This is also the highest benchmark score of the Northern medical and pharmaceutical school block this year.
Standing behind is the University of Medicine and Pharmacy - Thai Nguyen University with a floor score of 23 points for the Dentistry - Maxillofacial Surgery major. The medical major of the school takes 22 points.
In the group of schools taking the maximum floor score according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (22 points), there are Hanoi National University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hanoi University of Pharmacy, Vietnam Academy of Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy, Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy and Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy. This score level mainly applies to Medicine, Dentistry - Maxillofacial or Pharmacy majors.
Pharmacy and Traditional Medicine majors at many schools have a floor score from 20 points. Meanwhile, major groups of Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Imaging Technology, Rehabilitation Technology, Preventive Medicine... mainly take from 18 points. Public Health University takes a floor score of 16 points for majors outside the health group with practicing licenses and 18 points for Medical Laboratory Technology, Rehabilitation Technology.
In addition to the floor score, many schools also announced expected tuition fees for the 2026-2027 academic year. Among them, Hanoi Medical University has the highest tuition fee of up to about 80 million VND/year for the Dentistry - Maxillofacial Surgery major. Some other schools such as Hanoi National University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy and Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy also have tuition fees for Medicine and Pharmacy majors from about 60-70 million VND/year.
The floor score is only the minimum threshold for candidates to register for admission and is not an admission score. The benchmark scores for each major will be announced by schools after the end of the registration process and adjustment of university admission aspirations in 2026.
