On June 7, information from Vinh University said that the organization of SCImago Institutions Rankings, based in Spain, has just announced the results of the ranking of research institutions (results, universities) in the world in 2025.
According to the SCImago Institutions Rankings 2025 (SIR) results, Vinh University ranks 7th out of 53 educational and research institutions in Vietnam that were evaluated. Internationally, the school ranked 5,187 in the world and 719 in Asia, a sharp increase compared to 2024 (when it ranked 5,678th in the world, 909th in Asia and 16th in Vietnam).

SCImago is a global prestigious ranking for research institutions, based on three criteria: research capacity (accounting for 50%), innovation index (30%) and social impact measured through web presence (20%).
This achievement reflects the significant progress of Vinh University in scientific research and knowledge transfer. The school is implementing a development strategy with the goal of entering the top 500 universities in Asia by 2030 and the top 1,000 universities in the world by 2045.
Established in 1959, Vinh University is a national key higher education institution, playing the role of a high-quality human resource training center for the North Central region and the whole country. The school currently has nearly 35,000 students, students, and trainees; the teaching staff includes 50 Professors, Associate Professors, 300 PhDs, and 495 MSc.
The 2025 ranking results are an important milestone, affirming Vinh University's increasingly increasing academic position and international prestige in the Vietnamese higher education system.
