The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has just issued a document to implement the spending of Tet gifts for Binh Ngo in 2026 for officials, civil servants, public employees and employees working at administrative agencies and public non-business units directly under the Department.
According to the Department's guidance, officials, civil servants, public employees and employees directly signed labor contracts by the unit, based on the February 2026 salary scale, are rewarded with Tet gifts of 2 million VND/person, this spending level has increased by 200,000 VND compared to last year.
Thus, about 120,000 public school teachers in the city will receive Tet gifts.
Regarding funding sources, for public non-business units that self-ensure regular and investment expenditures (group 1) and units that self-ensure regular expenditures (group 2), the units balance themselves from the unit's financial resources to spend Tet gifts for employees.
For administrative agencies, public non-business units that self-ensure a part of regular expenditures (group 3) and units guaranteed by the State for regular expenditures (group 4), the city budget will supplement the budget estimate to implement Tet gift spending.
In the immediate future, units will implement Tet gift spending from the assigned funds in the 2026 estimate. At the same time, units must have a written request to supplement the estimate, accompanied by the February 2026 salary scale for explanation, and send it to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training.
Quang Ninh
Previously, the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Council issued Resolution 83/2025/NQ-HĐND stipulating the subjects and levels of gifts for the annual Lunar New Year for some social policy beneficiaries and other beneficiaries in Quang Ninh province in the period 2026 - 2030.
According to the Resolution, the amount of cash gifts ranges from 300,000 VND to 2 million VND for individuals and 6.5 million VND for units. It is expected that over 169 thousand individuals and units will benefit from the policy, with a total budget of over 69.2 billion VND per year from the provincial budget.
The level of 2 million VND is applied to 4 subjects specified in Article 2 of this Resolution. Among the 4 groups of subjects specified are groups of people's teachers, meritorious teachers; people's doctors, meritorious doctors; people's artists, meritorious artists; people's artisans, meritorious artisans.
Thus, teachers in Quang Ninh province who achieve the title of People's Teacher, Meritorious Teacher will receive cash gifts worth 2,000,000 VND/gift on the occasion of the 2026 Lunar New Year from the provincial budget.
This is a close right for the teaching staff in Quang Ninh province. Therefore, teachers need to pay attention to enjoy this preferential policy.
For other provinces and cities, although there are no separate Tet gifts for teachers, teachers this year received a bonus according to Decree 73/2024/ND-CP, ranging from 9 - 16 million VND, equivalent to 1 month's salary.
