On February 7, the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) - Ministry of Public Security informed that on February 6, the Traffic Police force of units and localities simultaneously launched a campaign to handle the topic of alcohol concentration according to the order of the Director of the Traffic Police Department.
Control activities are unifiedly deployed in 34/34 localities during two peak hours from 10am to 2pm and from 7pm to 12pm.
Functional forces controlled 55,622 vehicle trips, including 1,713 passenger cars, 3,599 trucks, 11,195 cars, 37,736 motorbikes and 1,203 rudimentary vehicles and other vehicles.
Through inspection, traffic police discovered and made records of handling 1,901 cases of alcohol concentration violations. Among them, there were 2 cases of driving trucks, 24 cases of driving cars, 1,820 cases of riding motorbikes and 55 cases of rudimentary vehicles and other means of transport.
In addition to alcohol concentration violations, functional forces also handle many acts directly related to traffic safety. Among them, there are 722 cases without driver's licenses, 575 cases without vehicle registration and 26 cases without rearview mirrors as prescribed.
Traffic police have temporarily seized 1,901 vehicles and revoked the right to use 243 driver's licenses to serve the handling of violations according to legal regulations.
During the two peak hours of implementing the control plan, no traffic accidents related to alcohol concentration were recorded.
According to the Traffic Police Department, the nationwide force simultaneously controlling one violation topic at the same time will be maintained regularly and continuously, including holidays and Tet. The goal is to gradually form the habit of "if you have drunk alcohol and beer, don't drive", thereby reducing accidents and building a safer traffic environment.
