On the morning of June 12, more than 1.2 million candidates nationwide entered the second day of the 2026 high school graduation exam. In the morning, students took elective subjects, including History with a test time of 50 minutes.

According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, the 2026 high school graduation exam includes 4 subjects. In addition to the two compulsory subjects, Literature and Mathematics, which were completed on June 11, candidates can choose 2 more subjects from the subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Informatics, Economic and Legal Education, Industrial-Oriented Technology, Agricultural-Oriented Technology and Foreign Languages. Candidates are allowed to register to take the Foreign Language subject different from the foreign language being studied at the high school.
History is one of the elective subjects with the largest number of registered candidates. The exam is organized in the form of multiple-choice questions, including two types of questions: multiple-choice questions and correct/wrong questions.
For the correct/wrong question section, each question consists of 4 points. Candidates who answer correctly 1 point get 0.1 points; correctly 2 points get 0.25 points; correctly 3 points get 0.5 points and only get 1 full point when answering correctly all 4 points.

All elective subjects are organized in the form of multiple-choice tests with a test time of 50 minutes per subject. According to the exam schedule, candidates take the first elective subject from 7:35 AM to 8:25 AM and the second elective subject from 8:35 AM to 9:25 AM. During the time between the two exam subjects, candidates are not allowed to leave the exam area, except in special cases and must be supervised by functional forces.
According to registration data for the 2026 exam, in the group of social science subjects, History has the largest number of candidates with 570,800 students, followed by Geography with 448,725 students.
Compared to the 2025 exam, History is also the subject with the strongest increase in the number of registered candidates (an increase of 71,433 students).
At the 2025 high school graduation exam, History subject recorded more than 1,500 exam papers achieving a score of 10.
