According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training (GDĐT), the scope of assessment belongs to the 2018 General Education Program on Mathematics for secondary school level, including knowledge circuits: Geometry and Measurement; Numbers and Algebra; Statistics and Probability.
The exam questions aim to assess students' mathematical abilities such as mathematical thinking and reasoning, problem solving and mathematical modeling.
The test content requires students to know how to apply the knowledge they have learned to solve practical problems, encourage self-study, creativity, and limit rote learning.
According to the announced structure, the Math exam for 10th grade entrance includes 7 papers with a total score of 10. In which:
Part 1. (1.5 points) Give the function y = ax2
a) Draw the graph (P) of the function above.
b) Find points belonging to (P) that meet the given condition in advance.
Article 2. (1 point)
Give the quadratic equation ax2 + bx + c = 0
a) Find the condition for the solution of the equation.
b) Apply the Viete system, calculate the expression value related to the solutions.
Article 3. (1.5 points)
The practical mathematical form is related to probability and statistics.
Article 4. (1 point)
a) Write the expression A represented by a certain quantity x in the practical problem.
b) Find the value of x so that A meets a certain condition.
Article 5. (1 point)
Practical mathematical forms related to geometry: Perimeter, area of triangles, quadrilaterals, length of arcs, circle perimeter, area of circles, fan shapes, stones, rings... Surround area, total area, volume of shapes in reality...
Article 6. (1 point)
The practical type of mathematics involves equations, inequalities, and binary first-order equations.
Article 7. (3 points)
The plane geometry problem consists of 3 questions.
a) Prove 4 points belonging to a circle, parallel, perpendicular, equal elements...
b) Prove the system, the elements are equal, aligned, homogeneous...
c) Calculate length, perimeter, area, angle measurement...

In the 2025-2026 school year, Ho Chi Minh City has 169,602 9th grade students completing the secondary school program. Of which, 151,269 candidates registered to take the 10th grade public high school entrance exam for the 2026-2027 school year and 1,515 students are directly admitted.
The exam will take place in two days, June 1 and 2, 2026, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training arranges 242 exam sites with 6,443 exam rooms, and at the same time mobilizes more than 17,000 officials and teachers to participate in exam supervision and service.
Candidates will take 3 subjects including Literature, Mathematics and Foreign Language 1; candidates registering for specialized or integrated classes will take additional specialized or integrated subjects according to regulations.
