2025 is the first time the Ministry of Education and Training has required universities to convert equivalent scores between admission methods (high school, transcripts, competencies...) to ensure fairness.
The benchmark score of the Military Technical Academy (MTA) in 2025 ranges from 26.4 - 29.25, the lowest level applied to male candidates in the North and the highest for female candidates in the South.
Priority candidates apply a lower level, from 24.1 - 27.1.
The 2025 enrollment methods of the Military Technical Academy include:
Direct admission and priority admission are carried out according to the regulations of the Military Admissions Board of the Ministry of National Defense;
Admission based on the results of the Competency Assessment exam of Vietnam National University Hanoi and Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City.

Admission based on the results of the high school graduation exam according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Admission combinations are A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry), A01 (Math, Physics, English) and A0T (Math, Physics, Informatics).
For the military system, students do not have to pay tuition fees and are arranged jobs after graduation. For the civil system, the expected tuition fee is 1.85 million VND per month.
And in 2024, the benchmark score of the Military Technical Academy is considered based on the high school graduation exam score from 25.46 - 27.71 points (depending on the enrollment target).
The benchmark score applied to male candidates in the North is 26.13 points. For candidates with the same score level above, the school requires Math to reach 8.6 points or higher; the second secondary criterion is Physics to reach 9.25 points.
