On the afternoon of January 7, in Hanoi, authorized by the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung and Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee Phan Xuan Thuy co-chaired the Announcement on the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam to foreign diplomatic missions and international organizations in Vietnam. Attending the announcement were representatives of leaders of departments, ministries, and branches.
At the announcement, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung emphasized that the 14th National Party Congress is a turning point, a particularly important milestone in the country's development process; an important opportunity to evaluate and summarize 40 years since the start of the renovation and 5 years of the term of the 13th National Party Congress (2021 - 2026) to thereby set out comprehensive development goals and directions in all fields in the new era of the Vietnamese nation.
With that extremely important meaning, the 14th National Party Congress was closely and closely directed by the Central Executive Committee, directly the Politburo, the Secretariat, and General Secretary To Lam in all aspects.
Regarding the process of preparing documents for the Congress, Minister Le Hoai Trung said that the document building work has undergone fundamental innovation with the Political Report for the first time integrating the content of 3 documents: Political Report, Socio-Economic Report, and Party building summary report, thereby demonstrating the spirit of continuing to innovate in methods and thinking.
The document has been carefully and elaborately prepared and widely consulted throughout the Party, the people, both domestically and abroad. Regarding the personnel work of the Congress, Comrade Le Hoai Trung affirmed that this particularly important task was carried out thoroughly, firmly, cautiously, and accurately and considered this a prerequisite to "turn vision and aspiration into results".
Regarding the foreign policy in the Congress documents, Minister Le Hoai Trung emphasized the inheritance of the foreign policy in the renovation period and at the same time supplemented the guiding viewpoint that strengthening national defense and security and promoting foreign affairs and international integration is a key and regular task.
Vietnam's consistent policy is independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, multilateralization, diversification of foreign relations; ensuring the highest national and ethnic interests on the basis of the basic principles of the United Nations Charter, equal and mutually beneficial cooperation; being a friend, a reliable partner, an active and responsible member of the international community; actively and responsibly participating in solving common regional and international issues.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung emphasized that the organization work so far has been well prepared, secure, and safe, in accordance with the Party's regulations and Vietnam is ready for this important Congress to take place from January 19-25, 2026 and respectfully conveys the invitation to representatives of foreign diplomatic missions and international organizations in Vietnam to attend the opening and closing sessions of the Congress.
