The Government has just issued Decree 151/2024/ND-CP (effective from January 1, 2025) detailing a number of articles and measures to implement the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety.
Pursuant to Article 6 of Decree 151/2024/ND-CP stipulating the responsibility to instruct students on safe motorbike driving skills.
According to Decree 151/2024/ND-CP, high schools and vocational training institutions are responsible for:
Organize students and their families to sign a commitment to comply with the law on road traffic order and safety, including the following contents:
Students are not allowed to drive motorbikes without meeting the required conditions, and are not allowed to drive motorbikes without completing the safe motorbike driving skills training program;
Students' families do not hand over vehicles to students to drive when they do not meet the conditions prescribed by law;
Coordinate with the Parents' Representative Board to regularly remind their children to fulfill their signed commitments and regularly exchange and grasp information with students' families about students' compliance with laws on road traffic order and safety when participating in traffic;
Including compliance with laws on road traffic order and safety as one of the criteria for evaluating and classifying students' conduct.
Thus, from 1.1.2025, students will only be allowed to drive motorbikes under 50cc after completing a safe driving skills training program. This program will be guided and evaluated by the Traffic Police.
