Admissions 2025: Many universities open new majors

Vân Trang |

Many universities plan to open new training programs and majors in the 2025 enrollment season.

In 2025, the University of Commerce will develop 7 more international career-oriented training programs, aiming to equip students with both professional skills and foreign language ability upon graduation, to participate in the international labor market.

In addition, the school plans to have 2 more international dual degree programs in Marketing and Business Administration, and 1 advanced technology transfer program.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Trung - Deputy Head of Communications and Admissions Department, University of Commerce - said that the school always updates and innovates training programs in line with practice to meet the needs of businesses.

In 2025, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will open the first digital automotive engineering training program in Vietnam to provide the Vietnamese and regional labor market with outstanding engineers. This is a postgraduate program, equivalent to a master's degree, jointly developed by Hanoi University of Science and Technology's member units, the School of Mechanical Engineering and the School of Information and Communication Technology.

Bachelor's degree graduates in suitable majors can apply for admission such as: Automotive Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Control and Automation, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Security, Information Technology, Automotive Engineering Technology, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering...

In addition, the program is also open to bachelors from other universities, provided they meet the entry knowledge and skills requirements.

According to Dr. Ngo Lam Trung - Deputy Head of the Department of Computer Engineering, School of Information and Communication Technology, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the decision to open a specialized engineering program comes from the reality of developing the automobile industry and software for automobiles.

FPT University has also announced its enrollment method for 2025. A notable new point is that the school continues to expand its training portfolio with majors that are "thirsty" for human resources such as: Financial Technology, Digital Banking and Finance, Corporate Finance, Investment Finance, Economic Law, International Trade Law.

According to a representative of FPT University, the early announcement of admission methods and training majors in 2025 not only helps candidates proactively choose a suitable study path but also creates conditions for them to prepare thoroughly for this year's admission season.

In fact, universities opening new majors is not just a story of 2025, but since the Law on Higher Education came into effect, it has given more autonomy to training institutions. This includes autonomy in enrollment, opening majors, and training program content.

According to experts, schools opening new majors is an inevitable trend to meet the needs of the future labor market. However, in reality, there are many schools opening majors following the trend when they do not have enough conditions in terms of facilities, teaching staff, etc. This makes candidates wonder whether to choose new majors or not.

Giving advice to candidates, Dr. Le Viet Khuyen, former Deputy Director of the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training), Vice President of the Association of Vietnamese Universities and Colleges, noted that students should not be hasty or chase after new things. When choosing a major, students need to focus on their own abilities, from there, research to find the career and university that can best meet their needs.

Currently, 35 universities have announced their enrollment plans for 2025. For details, see HERE.
