Opening the ceremony, Mr. Huynh Van Chuong - Director of the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training - summarized the achievements of the Vietnamese delegation at the International Olympic and Science and Technology Competitions.
Vietnam has 8 delegations participating in international and regional Olympic competitions, with a total of 38 students participating. The achievements are 12 Gold medals, 15 Silver medals, 10 Bronze medals and 1 Certificate of Merit. Thus, compared to 2023, the number of Gold medals increased by 4, Silver medals increased by 3.
In particular, the practical exam scores of Vietnamese students increased. Many students were among the top candidates with the highest scores in the exams.
At the International Science and Technology Competition, the Vietnamese delegation won a second prize. This is the highest prize that Vietnamese students have won after 12 years of participation.
Director Huynh Van Chuong assessed that the above achievements of the Vietnamese delegations showed the interest and investment of the entire education sector in spearhead education. He shared that in the coming time, the Ministry of Education and Training will try to create favorable conditions, typically by organizing the National High School Excellent Student Competition early to discover and select students to participate in international competition teams. Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Kim Chi, on behalf of the Ministry's leaders, warmly commended and congratulated the achievements of Vietnamese students in recent international competitions.

Representing students from Vietnamese delegations who won international Olympic and Science and Technology prizes, Do Phu Quoc - a student of Le Thanh Tong High School for the Gifted (Quang Nam), Silver medalist of the International Chemistry Olympiad shared: "For us, representing Vietnamese students to participate in international and regional Olympic competitions is a great honor. We are aware that this is a great responsibility to the Fatherland, to our homeland and to ourselves.
