The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training (GDĐT) has just issued a document guiding a number of contents to maintain the quality of nurturing, care, education and ensure safety for children at preschool education institutions during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026.
Accordingly, the People's Committees of wards, communes, and special zones are required to firmly grasp the Tet holiday schedule of preschool education institutions in the area, guide the strict implementation of regulations on Tet holiday time according to the general plan of the education sector. At the same time, direct schools to maintain the quality of care and education for children; ensure health safety, food safety and organize Tet celebration activities suitable to age and actual conditions.
The Department of Education and Training also requested local authorities to coordinate with medical forces, police, and mass organizations in disease prevention and control, environmental sanitation, fire prevention and fighting, and ensuring security and order at preschool facilities.
After the Tet holiday, the People's Committees of wards, communes, and special zones must quickly report on the operational situation of preschool education institutions, and send them to the Department before 11:30 am on February 23, 2026.
For preschool education institutions, the Department requests to review facilities, equipment, supplies - toys; organize school cleaning before, during and after Tet. Units must ensure security and safety of schools, especially fire prevention and fighting, safety of electrical systems, food safety and hygiene and disease prevention, ensuring absolute safety for children.
In addition, schools need to organize educational activities to help children celebrate Tet healthily and appropriately for their age; integrate education on the meaning of Lunar New Year, maintaining personal hygiene and lifestyle. The coordination and propaganda to parents of children in caring for and educating children at home during the Tet holiday is also emphasized.
Preschool education institutions must assign serious Tet duty personnel, ensure property safety, promptly announce Tet holiday plans and times to welcome children back to school, and immediately report arising incidents (if any) to management agencies.
