Community tourism flourishes
According to the plan, by 2045, Mang Den area will become an urban - service - tourism center with a population of about 94,200 people, welcoming 5 million tourists each year.
The development space is oriented towards ecology, respecting natural terrain and the existing ecosystem, limiting concretization, while creating an architectural highlight in the central area.
In particular, a metro line is expected to be built to connect Mang Den airport with key tourist destinations such as Po E, Mang Canh, Dak Tang, Mang But (old), creating favorable conditions for tourists.
In recent years, along with the formation of Mang Den National Eco-tourism Area, local authorities have implemented many solutions to develop community tourism. Up to now, Mang Den has had two recognized locations: Kon Pring Cultural - Tourism Village and Vi Ro Ngheo Community Tourism Village.
The whole district currently has 40 homestay establishments operating in community tourism villages, an increase of 10 establishments compared to the same period in 2024. From the beginning of 2025 to now, community tourism destinations have welcomed about 39,300 visitors, an increase of 65% over the same period last year.
Community tourism not only helps create livelihoods and increase income for people but also contributes significantly to the socio-economic development of the locality.
At the meetings, representatives of Mang Den Tourism Association, authorities and tourism households regularly exchanged models, shared experiences and proposed solutions to strengthen linkages to improve operational efficiency.
Eco-agriculture associated with tourism
In addition to the advantage of a fresh climate at an altitude of more than 1,200m, Mang Den also stands out with its potential for developing cold- county coffee. The People's Committee of Mang Den commune said that the locality currently has 672 hectares of coffee, reaching more than 90% of the plan. In 2025, the commune was assigned to plant 740 hectares newly, and in the first 8 months of the year alone, 150 hectares were planted. To support the people, the government has granted seeds to 151 households participating in community production development projects and value chains, with more than 122,000 coffee trees.
Mr. Pham Van Thang - Chairman of Mang Den Commune People's Committee - said that in the coming time, the commune will encourage people to convert ineffective noodle growing areas to cold-climate coffee, at the same time form cooperatives and cooperatives, build a sustainable value chain from production to consumption, attracting investment enterprises.
The combination of natural landscape, indigenous culture and typical agricultural products promises to make Mang Den an attractive tourism - resort - experience center in the future.
