According to initial information, at about 5 am on the same day, at Km346+200 of Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway (South - North direction), the section passing through Bac Khanh Vinh commune, Khanh Hoa province, a collision occurred between 4 cars including 2 passenger cars and 2 trucks.
The accident left a passenger car driver trapped in the cabin. Passengers and other vehicle drivers managed to escape safely.
Immediately after receiving the news, the Traffic Police force under the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) quickly arrived at the scene, coordinated to organize rescue, took the trapped driver out and transferred him to Khanh Hoa General Hospital for emergency treatment.
To limit congestion, functional forces have opened emergency turnaround points, guided vehicles to circulate, and urgently cleared the scene, ensuring traffic on the expressway to be smooth again.
At the same time, the Fire and Rescue Team of Area 5 (Fire and Rescue Police Department - Khanh Hoa Provincial Police) dispatched 1 fire truck and 1 rescue vehicle to the scene for support.
Information from Khanh Hoa General Hospital said that the unit has received a victim in the accident, with very serious injuries. Doctors are urgently preparing surgery for emergency treatment.
Currently, the cause of the accident is being investigated and clarified by functional agencies.
