Chemistry and Physics exams are not difficult but still have differentiation
This morning, June 12, students nationwide attended the final exam session of the 2026 high school graduation exam.
Students take 2 elective subjects out of the remaining 9 subjects studied in grade 12, including: Foreign Language, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economic & Law Education, Informatics, Technology.
At the exam site of Le Quy Don High School (Xuan Hoa ward, Ho Chi Minh City), many candidates said that this year's Physics and Chemistry exam questions have moderate differentiation, not too difficult but still ensure the ability to classify candidates.
Candidate Diep Nguyen Ha said that she is quite confident with her work after completing the two exams.
According to the female student, the Physics exam was not as difficult as many predictions before the exam, the differentiation level was moderate and the questions mainly closely followed the knowledge learned.
I think the Physics exam is at a moderate level, there are not many tricky questions. Those who review carefully can completely do the exam and get quite high scores" - Nguyen Ha commented.

Regarding Chemistry, female students said that the exam has a clearer differentiation, especially in the group of right and wrong questions. Some questions require candidates to understand the nature of knowledge and know how to apply it flexibly instead of just memorizing. However, the exam is still within the scope of the curriculum and does not cause too much surprise.
Nguyen Ha predicts that this year's score distribution in both subjects will be quite positive, especially for students with serious review processes. In my opinion, the number of exam papers achieving 8 points or higher may be higher than the initial concerns of candidates.

Sharing the same view, Le Pham Hoai An, a student at Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School, also assessed that the Physics exam was only slightly more difficult than last year and did not have any tricky questions. For Chemistry, Hoai An said that the right and wrong questions are the most differentiating part of the exam.
Hoai An expects to get over 8 points and wishes to enter the Finance major of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance. After completing the exam, the male student plans to spend time resting and relaxing before waiting for the results.
In general, both candidates assessed that this year's exam questions closely followed the curriculum, had reasonable differentiation and created opportunities for students to develop their abilities, while still ensuring the requirements of classification to serve university admission work.
Average score predicted for Physics in 2026 is 6.5 points
Analyzing specifically the exam code 0223 for Physics, the 2026 high school graduation exam, teacher Pham Quoc Toan - Tuyensinh247. com commented that the exam focuses on assessing competence, assessing thinking, not solving math problems. The questions mainly focus on 12th grade knowledge, focusing on the nature of physics and practical knowledge.
The exam is not more difficult than in 2025, it is predicted that there will be fewer perfect scores than last year. The exam has clear differentiation, with reasonable arrangement from easy to difficult, helping to accurately assess students' abilities at many levels" - Mr. Toan said.

Regarding the structure and difficulty of the exam, Mr. Toan analyzed that the exam consists of 40 small ideas, divided into 3 parts: Multiple choice multiple-choice test; Right or wrong multiple-choice test; Short answer multiple-choice test.
In which, the multiple-choice option section has 18 objective multiple-choice questions with 4 answers, of which there is only 1 optional answer. Knowledge spans grade 12. This part is mainly to assess average students, meeting the needs of the graduation exam.
The right and wrong multiple-choice part consists of 4 questions, each question with 4 ideas a, b, c, d, starting to differentiate between average students and good students. Questions are integrated with knowledge into analysis and experiment description. Students are required to understand the nature of Physical phenomena.
The multiple-choice part is short with 6 questions, each question students must calculate or exploit to find the answer by a specific number to fill in the multiple-choice answer sheet. Cluster questions appear.
This year's exam questions are close to reality and suitable for students. Knowledge coverage: 100% of grade 12 knowledge" - Mr. Toan said.
General comments on the score distribution, teacher Pham Quoc Toan predicts the average score of Physics in 2026 is 6.5 (in 2025 it is 6.99).
