Princess Bajrakitiyabha is the eldest of 7 children of King Vajiralongkorn, born on December 7, 1978. She is the king's daughter with her first wife, Princess Soamsawali.

Princess Bajrakitiyabha was trained as a lawyer and received 2 postgraduate degrees from Cornell University in the US. She worked for a short time at the Thai delegation to the United Nations in New York, before returning to Thailand to work at the Attorney General's Office in Bangkok and elsewhere in the country.
From 2012 to 2014, the princess was the Thai Ambassador to Austria, where she built relations with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
After returning to Thailand, she became UNODC's Ambassador for the Rule of Law in Southeast Asia and continued to advocate for reforming Thailand's criminal justice system.
