On September 16, Mr. Pham Van Nam - Director of the Department of Education and Training (DET) of Gia Lai province - said that after the Government issued Decree No. 238/2025/ND-CP dated September 3, 2025 regulating tuition fees, tuition exemption, reduction, support, support for study costs and service prices in the field of education and training, the Department has urgently prepared submissions to advise the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the Provincial People's Council for consideration and approval in the next session.
The Department is advising the Provincial People's Committee to issue regulations on tuition fees for public school students in each region, on that basis the provincial budget will compensate schools to ensure regular spending activities. At the same time, it advised the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the People's Council a Resolution on tuition fees for public preschools and general schools in the 2025-2026 school year; tuition support for preschool children and students at private and public facilities, to implement tuition exemption and support policies in the area.

"From the tuition fee of public schools, the province will determine the tuition support level for private and public schools. Parents studying at private schools only need to pay the difference if the actual tuition fee is higher than the support level," Mr. Nam explained.
Gia Lai province currently has 1,371 schools at all levels of education, including 102 private and public schools (93 kindergartens, 1 primary school, 8 high schools). It is expected that the total budget for compensation for public schools to implement tuition exemption policies will be about VND960 billion (calculated at the lowest level in the Government's tuition framework) and tuition support for private and public educational institutions will be about VND76 billion.
Sharing with Lao Dong, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Ai (born in 1991, residing in An Nhon Nam ward) expressed her relief when the worry about the cost of schooling at the beginning of the school year for her children is no longer burdened thanks to the State's tuition exemption and support policy.
"My family has 3 children preparing to enter the new school year. In previous years, the total cost at the beginning of the year was about 20 million VND, including clothes, books and tuition, of which the tuition fee alone was nearly 9 million VND.
When I learned that the State was implementing a tuition exemption policy this year, I was really happy. The worry about food and tuition fees at the beginning of the year has been relieved. This is an extremely meaningful policy, especially for disadvantaged families, helping children have the opportunity to go to school and aim for a better future," Ms. Ai shared.
