Bringing traditional Tet into schools through many experiential activities will help students cultivate love for their roots and cherish the human values of the nation.

Turn heritage into vivid lessons

In the last days of the year, the Tet atmosphere is not only bustling on the streets but has also visited each classroom corridor with the atmosphere of the "Tet miniature" market, brilliant with peach blossoms and apricot blossoms.

Cultural education for students at this time is no longer dry on paper but becomes emotional visual experiences.

Dinh Nhu Quynh - a 9A1 student at Nguyen Trai Secondary School (Tuyen Quang) shared her experience of wrapping banh chung for the first time on the "Spring Fair" day at school: "Before, in my memory, banh chung was simply a cake solemnly placed on the altar every Tet holiday, and I never thought about the journey to make it. Only when I folded leaves myself, put rice in, and arranged the filling, did I realize that to complete a banh chung requires a lot of effort and meticulousness.

Through that, I also understand that banh chung and banh day are symbols of heaven and earth, sending gratitude to ancestors. From now on, I will cherish and cherish each dish more during the traditional Tet holidays.

At Tay Tuu A Primary School (Hanoi), students also experienced the banh chung wrapping festival with many activities such as: wrapping banh chung, making Tet greeting cards, making lucky money envelopes, painting calligraphy paintings,...

Nguyen Trung Anh (class 5A3) chose to write the word "Tai" in calligraphy writing activities with the wish that in the new year he would study well so that he could become talented in the future and contribute to his homeland.

Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc Luong - Principal of the school - shared that in addition to the Chung cake wrapping festival, the school also plans to organize the Spring Flower Festival.

This is an opportunity for us to promote the image and brand of the traditional craft village, Tay Tuu flower growing village. And also an opportunity for us to educate students about their love for their homeland, a custom of the craft village" - Ms. Luong said.

A special point is that in the Tet theme, the school also develops a plan to guide students to perform their communication videos, introducing their hometown Tet and flower village in the second language, English.

This is how schools help students both preserve their identity and confidently bring Vietnamese quintessence to introduce to international friends. These are also the first steps in the roadmap to make English the second language in schools according to the Party and State's policy, towards building a citizen with full skills in terms of competence and qualities" - Ms. Luong expressed.

Strengthening international exchanges in the school environment

Students of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted also just experienced 1 day with many meaningful activities, within the framework of the 2026 Spring Festival program.

Ms. Tran Thuy Duong - Principal of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted - said that the Spring Festival includes experiential educational activities of practical significance, contributing to fostering the love of traditional culture, while creating an environment for students to develop skills and strengthen the spirit of international integration.

The products are elaborately and creatively prepared, with unique and diverse art programs and folk games, contributing to creating a vibrant festival atmosphere, bringing a space to experience the beauty of customs and habits of the nation, strengthening cohesion, and at the same time contributing to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values.

Teachers and students have helped the Spring Festival become a cultural exchange bridge, showing the spirit of international integration of school students.
